About

I have been a professional musician for over 30 years and subsequently had the opportunity to travel far and wide globally working with many talented people along the way.

Initially studying Piano, Flute & Piccolo, Tuned Percussion and Composition at the Royal Military School of Music, Kneller Hall, I eventually entered the professional world of music concentrating on the piano, keyboards and flute & piccolo. Music composition has now taken an equal place to performing of which all genres are covered.

In the early days my work became quite diverse and consisted of working with Dame Vera Lynn, Sir Harry Secombe, Anne Shelton and Max Bygraves with the Johnny Wiltshire orchestra.

Later artists included the lovely Joe Brown as part of his ‘Bruvvers’, and the vocal groups The Drifters and The Supremes. I worked with the comedian Bob Monkhouse on several occasions who had a pleasant singing voice which he used in his Cabaret act, he was also the consummate gentleman. Talking of singing, Kenny Lynch has one of the finest voices around always making a proper job of a standard and Tony Hadley from Spandau Ballet is nothing less than a power house.

During an 8 month stint in the United States many years ago I was lucky enough to work with the jazz trumpeter Red Rodney amongst other notable American jazz musicians and briefly with the fabulous guitarist and singer George Benson. Other work has included recording for the BBC and various session work for song writers and so on.

I now have my own recording studio where all my compositional work is generated, as such I am available for any project you might wish me to be involved in, all genres catered for of course. I am a first class reading keyboard player who is very solid musically, I am also punctual and reliable. Not that I’m blowing my own ‘trumpet’ of course, I don’t play the trumpet!

If you are interested in my services please get in touch, I’ll look forward to working with you.

Kindest regards, Martin
